How has Magic Bookmark changed since launch?
Twelve versions in ten weeks. The two that matter for readers are 1.1, which added a finish-and-next-book flow, and 1.1.1, which added audiobooks.
3 nov 2026: Magic Bookmark's US App Store history starts with version 1.0.1 on 20 August 2026. Versions through September were mostly bug fixes and listing text. Version 1.0.10 (19 October) described chat with characters and page-matched recaps and character guides, 1.1 (21 October) added a flow for finishing a book and moving to the next, and 1.1.1 (27 October) added audiobook support. Pricing has stayed the same: first book free, then $1.40 to $4.99 a book. It is still iPhone only.
What changed in each version?
The table below lists every version on the US App Store with its date and a plain summary of the release notes. Early versions (1.0.2 to 1.0.4) were bug fixes. Versions 1.0.5 to 1.0.7 in early September carried the launch description: snap a photo of your page or type the page number, get a recap that stops at your bookmark, review the cast, any edition, any printing, first bookmark free. Versions 1.0.8 to 1.0.10 described chat with characters and recaps and character guides matched to your exact place.
Why do 1.1 and 1.1.1 matter?
Version 1.1 matters for series readers. Finishing a book now has its own flow that leads into the next one, which is the moment series readers most often lose the thread. Version 1.1.1 matters for listeners: you type the last phrase you heard and the app finds your place, so the recap, cast list and chat now work for audiobooks as well as print and ebooks. That closes the biggest gap against Kindle's recap tools, which only work inside Kindle ebooks.
What has not changed?
The limits. It is still iPhone only (the website says Android is on the roadmap for later), still supported titles only, still English only, and still paid per book after the first. The App Store privacy label still lists identifiers as data used to track you. Our review score of 60 reflects those limits and has not moved; we will re-score when Android or a broader catalog arrives.
